Airshow Visitors Promotional Campaign and Visitors Map
Farnborough International Airshow is the biggest, most internationally attended aerospace event in the world. The brief was to produce a visually impactful advertising campaign to promote the weekend family focused part of the show.
Our creative concepts and interpretation of the brief flew past some larger London agencies in the tender process. We produced a campaign celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the airshow, incorporating references to historic aviation uniform and aircraft but mostly showcasing the family focus. The project began with organising a photoshoot. The result was a bright and eye-catching campaign that emphasised the vast amount of activities and fun that was to be had at the Farnborough Airshow. The campaign was implemented onto posters, billboards, local press adverts, tube and taxi advertising as well as email marketing, which saw a marked increase in advance ticket sales.
Amongst the other material we have produced was a new visitors map. A new style was required which would accentuate the fun, family aspect of the show. It needed to become more interactive, encouraging people to visit their various shows and food halls and highlight the numerous attractions on the very large site.
We used a very different illustrative style that was aimed at children as well as adults. It provided large amounts of information in a clear and comprehensible way ensuring ease of use and a thorough knowledge of what was happening and where!
Farnborough International Ltd, engaged Door 22 as their creative advertising agency for the 2008 public airshow campaign. Pitching against top London agencies, Door 22 outshone competitors, offering a cost effective and innovative concept. Response to the campaign has been outstanding, seeing ticket sales a month ahead of sales from the same time in the selling cycle last airshow.
