Stonewall was founded in 1989 to help promote equality within the gay, lesbian and bisexual community. Since then it has grown substantially, with offices in England, Scotland and Wales and a large band of committed volunteers that have pushed the case for equality on the mainstream political agenda. Successes include helping achieve the equalisation of the age of consent, lifting the ban on lesbians and gay men serving in the military, securing legislation allowing same-sex couples to adopt and the repeal of Section 28.
Having been given charitable status in 2003 and with no public funding, Stonewall raises all its money itself. Held every year, the Equality Dinner holds a raffle and silent auction, with gifts kindly donated by various high-profile writers, actors, sports personalities and companies. This year, it was held in the prestigious Dorchester, within the elegant surroundings of The Ballroom. In collaboration with Frank! Communications and inspired by the art deco backdrop a brochure, ticket, raffle ticket and exhibition stands were designed to help celebrate the night in style, with the use of foiling on the cover to add a little touch of elegance! Our part in the project helped contribute to a record-breaker – nearly £400,000 was raised to fight homophobic bullying!
We have been working with Door 22 for over seven years on projects ranging from large brochures to corporate ID and websites. They continue to inspire us with their creative and thoughtful design concepts but what really makes them stand out for us is their calm, professional attitude to each and every project we throw at them. They are quite simply a joy to work with.
