Charity Fundraising Event for Rethink Mental Illness

Charity Mass Participation Fundraising Event

After meeting with a few different organisations, we decided to go with Door 22 and we were not disappointed.
Emma is professional, interested in the cause and the event, and nothing was too much for her to help us with.
We are a relatively small fundraising organisation, so it was nice to be taken seriously. The initial ideas for our event were fabulous and the final designs we absolutely love. There is no doubt that the work Door 22 have put in will boost the success of our event massively.

Jemima Woolgar – Community & Events Fundraising Manager

Rethink, a charity that believes a better life is possible for the millions of people affected by mental Illness, needed an event idea, event name and mass participation event identity for their first own branded fundraising event.

Our brief was to come up with a charity mass participation event concept. An event that would appeal to the audience of the charity, the people they support, their family and friends. It needed to be accessible and an event that has a good shelf life and one that could be a national event as well as be adopted by people to arrange their own, whenever and wherever they liked. The fundraising event needed to be in line with the values of the organisation and also be recognisable as a Rethink Mental Illness event aligned with their brand guidelines.

Our solution:

We created the concept and name Walky Talky. A 5k walking event that would encourage talking whilst walking, both of which are key tools for mental health. Walky Talky not only describes the activity but a ‘walkie-talkie’ device only allows one-way communication, meaning you can either talk or listen and not do both together. This encapsulates the ethos and backbone to Rethink and it’s response to mental illness.

The deliverables:

    • Event name and concept
    • Event brand and identity
    • Event brand guidelines
    • Event fundraising guide
    • Event microsite design
    • Event promotional material
    • Banner ads and animated gifs for social activity
    • Social media graphic template for in-house use
