Migraine Charity Rebrand

Specialist migraine clinic branding and website

National Migraine Centre

The brief

The National Migraine Centre is the UK’s only charity providing migraine and primary headache diagnosis and treatment.

The charity needed a ground-up rebrand of the organisation built on a deep understanding of their audience, market position, strategic direction and needs. They also required a refreshed website to allow people to find information easier and faster. It needed to be clutter-free, structured and more organised. It needed to be user friendly, with an easy booking process.

The solution

Following discussions with migraine sufferers we developed a strong migraine friendly colour palette for the brand and a memorable, bold logo. The logo design represents the common need to retreat to a darkened room away sensory triggers and the aspiration that the charity will help you step out of this dark space and enable you to manage your life better.

The website was information heavy and required a clean design, simple navigation and structure to carry the content. Beyond the home page and call to actions the design is free from imagery and styling that detract from the rich advice and information.

Alongside the website we developed a Migraine Quiz with Warwick University which allowed the migraine sufferer to answer a series of question to determine what type of migraine they might have. For this aspect we used Typeform which allowed us to build a complex quiz logic with a simple branded interface.

The services we delivered for the brand refresh and website project were:

  • Brand development
  • Brand guidelines
  • Website design and build
  • WCAG AA accessibility
  • Established podcast sub-brand
  • Quiz development
  • Typeform integration

We came to the team with a complex project that changed as we developed the site – but Door 22 proved incredibly flexible, adapting and finding solutions every step of the way. I think their problem-solving abilities is what really stood out most for me. They were always responsive, easy to work with and took the time to really understand our organisation and where our website fits in. We were delighted with the way the project and ran and the final site speaks for itself.
